NMD 18 Rev 18 Mean Time 4b
In the previous study, NMD 17 Rev 17 Mean Time 4a, we have studied the judgement of Babylon. In this study we hear about the fall of Babylon. This part is called NMD 18 Rev 18 Mean Time 4b.
The emphasis is clearly shifted in Rev. 18:2 and verse 10 to show Babylon as a city. The words great city, mighty city, dwelling and haunt are mentioned a few times in this chapter. Further on in this chapter other elements are also mentioned such as merchants, cargoes, gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple, silk, scarlet cloth, every sort of citron, wood, even human beings are sold etc. Those elements are too literal to only think of symbolic elements. Here Babylon is presented as a real city.
In the previous chapter, NMD 17 Rev 17 Mean Time 4a, we have shown you that Rome could very well be that city as many people see it. However there are new developments in time which cause us to look at it differently. Rome is no longer the most important city nor other city’s like Jerusalem can be qualified so easily.
If we study Rev. 18 it is noticed that in this city, trade and politics play an important role but also in the religious area there are important issues. This city is a centre of trade, politics and religion, things that are all, as we have seen earlier on, of interest to the antichrist.
It is just in these areas where we can find in the last years a number of new developments, such as the war in Iraq, Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the different views between the Sunnï’s and the Shia’s. Furthermore, we see the disastrous destruction of old objects by ISIS.

The concept of Babylon, as world empires (Rev 17), is shifted to a business location (Rev 18:2 and 10). What city is mentioned (in Rev 18:2 and 10) and how do you know that the name, which is mentioned, is a place of residence?
Are there indications that the ancient city of Babylon will be rebuilt?
In what direction is Zechariah 5:5-11 pointing, in relation to Babylon (Rev 18)?
In Revelation 17 a political religious system is mentioned called Babylon and in Revelation 18 trade centrum and a literal city of Babylon is mentioned. What could such a dichotomy (religious centre and trade centre) mean and can you explain that?
Can you give a few reasons how Babylon as a city, plays an important role in the end times (Look at Google maps, Isa 13:10, Isa 14:1-3 and Rev 18)?
Where can we see a replica of the tower of Babel, the woman and the beast in Europe? What is the message for the Europeans?
Who has developed the European flag and from where did the stars come?
Where can we see the influence of the beast in our modern payment traffic?
|9||What are the merchants of the earth trading (Rev 18:12-13 KJV)? Why are they crying?|
Why is Babylon destroyed and by Whom? How long does that take?
