NMD 01 Rev 1 Authority
In the last study NMD 00 Introduction we have seen the plan of God and where the book Revelation comes from. In study NMD 01 Rev 1 Authority we will study Revelation 1 where we will see from whom the information comes, the authority of the book, an explanation who Christ is and who’s book it is.
Do you know who the author is of the last book of the Bible and the name of that book? Many people will say Saint John is the author but according to Rev 1:1 it is God who gave the information to Jesus Christ to disclose and make it known to His servants. Listen to this study as to the authority Jesus Christ has.
It is extremely important to realise that the main person in this book is the Lord Jesus Christ. The book starts in Rev 1:1 with His name and ends in Rev. 22:21 with His name. He is in authority all the way through, John sees Him in a striking way as the first person. In chapter 5 we will see the power of Him when a mighty angel asks “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll”.
Going back to verse 1 God gave the Revelation to Jesus Christ to show what must soon take place. Did you know that the Lord has done that many times before in prophetic prospects in the Old Testament? Just as an example, read Daniel 12:4-9.
